  • Montana summer program offers free meals to kids

    More than 50 kids were at Lincoln-McKinley Primary School Tuesday at noon, eating lunch, joking with each other and having a good time. The session was part of a summer program funded by the Montana Office of Public Instruction that provides free breakfasts and lunches for youngsters A staff of four prepares and serves the meals.     HELENA (AP) — Blackfeet officials have yet to make a decision on whether to file charges against Democratic state Sen. Shannon Augare for allegedly fleeing a traffic stop.     GREAT FALLS (AP) — A 16-year-old Malta boy has reached a plea agreement after being charged in Youth Court with negligently causing the death of a hunting companion in 2010, it was reported Thursday.     Gov. Steve Bullock has declared an emergency in Hill, Blaine and Chouteau counties and on the Rocky Boy's and Fort Belknap Indian reservations.     Havre Fire Department was called to action Wednesday to help a couple caught in flood waters. A caller at 9:21 a.m. requested help on Davey Road southeast of Havre after a tractor carrying two people across Little Box Elder Creek got stuck in the high water.
