  • All-day ride tickets on sale for Great Northern Fair

    Advance sales of wristbands giving all-day access to rides at the 2017 Great Northern Fair are available now, Great Northern Fairgrounds manager Dave Brewer said at Tuesday night’s meeting of the Great Northern Fair Board. The fair runs July 18 to 23 this year. Each wristband will allow the fairgoer up to a day’s worth of rides without having to pay before getting on each individual ride.   • Car crashes through Havre casino wall

    A car crashed Tuesday afternoon through the west wall of Lucky Lil's Casino on First Street and the driver died after being transported to the hospital. The driver, Wayne Lee Dolphay of Havre, was 64. Havre Police Chief Gabe Matosich said this morning the cause of the crash and Dolphay's death is being investigated, but there is reason to believe Dolphay had a medical condition that may have played a role in the crash.     An article in “From the Courts” on Page A5 in Friday’s Havre Daily News reported that Brian Carpenter of Havre pleaded no contest to a reduced charge stemming from accusations he assaulted a friend of his, giving him injuries requiring reconstructive surgery.
