And while the season had to be pushed back due to...

That famous movie clip from “Man from Snowy River” showing the epic scene, with the hero launching his horse off the top of a mountain and galloping headlong down the near-vertical mountainside, made its rounds on the internet again this week. I remember when the movie was released and horse people couldn’t get enough of that scene, some out of excitement, some horror, and everyone wanted to own or at least ride in an Aussie stock saddle. That’s all pretty much still true to...

  • Out Our Way: Charlie on the ridge - John 14:6

    Updated Nov 27, 2020

Out our way there is a lot of open country and to the greenhorn cowhand like me, it all looks pretty much the same. More than once I have gotten turned around and had no idea which way was which. Back in the day when I first started riding in open country, Elsie - the ranch lady who gave lessons to us tenderfeet in Wyoming - told me that you need to look back the way you came from time to time so as to see the "other side of the hills" and so recognize them when it came time t...

  • Hello, God. It's me, Mara.

    Updated Nov 27, 2020

You know, Lord, sometimes we just need to say “Thank You, Lord” for being so good to us, for always being so loving and kind. It’s a necessity to speak out and tell others that we are redeemed, that we are saved from our enemies. In Your Word, we read how the exiles were brought back from the far corners of the earth. They cried out for help and You, Lord, led them straight to safety and to a place to live. So, do we, in this day and age when all sorts of troubles seem to bombard us every which way, do we sit in darkness, in...
