GENEVIEVE MAZZUCA: Obituary

Genevieve Mazzuca, 90, Havre, died at her home on Friday, April 14, 2000 of natural causes.

A vigil service be held 7 p.m. Tuesday at Holland & Bonine Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St.

Jude Catholic Church with Father Robert D. Grosch officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary section of the Hill County Cemetery.

Mazzuca was born Dec. 29, 1909 to Antonio and Maria (Dodaro) Misuraca in Vico Apriliano, Cosenzac Calabria, Italy. Her family immigrated to Blairmore, Alberta, Canada when she was very young. In 1929, she married Salvatore Mazzuca in Blairmore and the couple moved to Havre.

Mazzuca enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking, baking and knitting. She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mazzuca was a member of the St. Jude Catholic Daughters, Eagles Auxiliary, and St. Magdaline Band.

Mazzuca was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Salvatore Mazzuca, in 1960; brother, Emilo Misuraca; stepsister Maritta Amotto; and grandson, James G. Yeon.

Survivors include her daughter, Yolanda Yeon of Havre; two sons, Frank and Sam Mazzuca, both of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Emma Angerilli and Esther Parisotto, both of Trail, British Columbia, Canada; brother, John Misuraca of Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada; 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Catholic Church.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
