Havre Water Plant Superintendent Jeff Jensen said that the tie-ins were completed at the plant over the weekend and that the Havre water supply is back to normal.

"We're back online," he said. "We are pumping water full capacity."

Jensen said Havre residents can resume normal water usage now that the plant's production is back to normal.

Jensen said he wanted the thank the residents of the city for their patience while the plant was being worked on. He said people generally helped out a lot, restricting their water usage on things like watering their lawns while the work was underway.

The water plant restricted usage of water in Havre for about two weeks while new pipes were tied in at the plant. The new pipes are part of an upgrade which will increase the capacity of the plant from about 3.5 million gallons of water a day to about 6.1 million gallons a day once the upgrade is completed.

Jensen said the work is not done on the upgrade. He said with the current set of filters they have at the plant, the new pipes haven't increased the capacity yet. But, he said, the new pipes will be able to handle the increased capacity of the new filters once the project is completed.

Jensen said there will be other delays as the project continues, but he doesn't see any restrictions coming up right away.

"There will be more delays throughout this project hopefully there won't be another for a little while," Jensen said.
