Ice Fishing Derby scheduled

The Fourth Annual Super Bowl Ice Fishing Derby is scheduled for Sunday at Bonneau Dam near Rocky Boy.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the derby to follow from 9:30 to 2:30 p.m. More than $1,500 will be given away in prizes. Prizes include fishing poles, tackle, etc. for all age groups. Award categories include first fish caught, largest fish, ugliest fish, smallest fish, and more. The grand prize is a portable ice house for combined weight of two trout caught with a team member. One team member must be under the age of 18.

Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under the age of 18. Elders over the age of 60 are free. All entrance fees will be donated to the April Dawn Stamper Memorial Scholarship fund.

No drugs or alcohol will be allowed on the ice. This rule will be strictly enforced.

Contestants do not need a fishing license. The license is waived for this event.

The April Dawn Stamper Memorial will be selling food and drinks.

If the weather is too cold, the fishing derby will be postponed until Feb. 10. Bring some wood and dress warm.
