MAT takes Center stage

The next selection of the luncheons at the Heritage Center will feature several local celebrities a troupe of actors.

Montana Actors Theatre will perform at the luncheon Wednesday.

Gary Wilson of the Heritage Center foundation board, who coordinates the luncheons, said he's been trying to schedule a MAT luncheon with Jay Pyette of the troupe for some time.

"He's been on my list," Wilson said. "(MAT is) becoming a very important part of the arts on the Hi-Line."

MAT actors Donald Mayer and Grant Olson will perform a section of "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" by Tom Stoppard. MAT will begin rotating performances of "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern" and Shakespeare's "Othello" at the Montana State University-Northern Little Theater on Feb. 13.

Sam Stuart will also speak at the luncheon, talking about the February production and how MAT works. His discussion will include the fund-raising season for the troupe, its production season, and the children's and youth theater, Pyette said.

The luncheon begins at noon at the old courtroom on the third floor of the Heritage Center. The luncheon costs $15, and Wilson said reservations are a must. Call 265-7258 to make reservations.
