Forum is set for tonight

Local residents will have the opportunity tonight to hear from the candidates for the top two offices in the 2010 candidate election.

The Democratic candidates for Hill County attorney and Hill County commissioner will face off in a forum starting at 7

p. m. in the Hospitality Room on the east end of the Hill County Electric-Triangle Telephone cooperatives' office building west of Havre.

The doors are scheduled to open at 6:30 p.m. The members of each group of candidates will have two minutes to introduce themselves, then go through a round of questions, with each candidate in each group being asked the same question.

The questions, which will not be provided to the candidates in advance, will comprise selections prepared by the Havre Daily News and possibly suggested questions provided by the audience.

The Havre Daily News will provide note cards on which audience members can write suggested questions, which will be collected by staff members of the Havre Daily before the forum begins.

Havre Daily News Publisher Martin Cody will moderate the forum.
