Richard Roby Parsons

Richard Roby Parsons, 72, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at his home in Kalispell, Mont.

He was born on May 26, 1939, in Bozeman, Mont., to Henry and Minnie (Adams) Parsons.

Richard received his education in Bozeman. He started working construction when he was 15 years old and continued in this career throughout his life. He also became a driller and a powder man. Richard lived throughout the northwest, but always seemed to return to Montana.

Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, camping and carpentry. He married Doris Cobb, and they were later divorced.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Clarence, George, Clifford and Paul; two sisters, Mae Donahue and Pauline Long; and a daughter-in-law, Sherrie Parsons. He is forever loved and will remain a loving father, uncle and grandfather in all of our hearts.

He is survived by his children, Lorna Stremcha of Havre, Mont., Jerry Parsons of Livingston, Mont., Dairene Ricci of Livingston, Mont., and Rick Parsons of Kalispell, Mont. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dave Parsons and John Parsons, both of Belgrade, Mont. ; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life for Richard will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at 2 p. m. at Hyalite Reservoir near Bozeman. Please send any memorial contributions in care of Dairene Ricci, 708 S. 13th St., Livingston, MT 59047.
