Aileen Sather

Aileen Sather, 84, of Havre, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Northern Montana Care Center due to natural causes. Her memorial service will be held at a later date.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Aileen was born on Sept. 6, 1928, to Chester and Susan (Clayborn) Nelson in Havre, Mont. She attended school in Havre and graduated from Havre High School in 1946. Aileen married Guy Stevens. He passed away in 1970. In 1978 Aileen married James Sather in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They returned to Havre. Aileen worked at Northern Montana College as a payroll clerk for many years, retiring in 1988, the same day that Jim retired from Vita Rich Dairy.

Aileen liked to play golf, cross stitch, and go horseback riding. Aileen was a member of a sewing club with many local ladies who enjoyed getting together in the evenings. Jim and Aileen spent many happy hours driving in the Bear Paw Mountains together. They went to Hawaii and took lots of road trips, went to the Eagles on Thursdays for dinner, and went out for breakfast every Sunday. Aileen enjoyed attending the community concerts with her friends.

Aileen was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Guy Stevens; and her sister, Juanita Vandeberg.

She is survived by her husband James "Jim" Sather of Havre; her daughters, Kim Sather of Seattle, Wash., and Barb (Mark) Bruce of Minneapolis, Minn .; granddaughters, Kaycee Perez of Omaha Neb., and Andrea (Mark) Madura of Louisville, Ky .; great-grandchildren, Evan and Olivia Perez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
