Ice Hawks at home for the final time

Weather permitting, the Havre Ice Hawks high school hockey team will play on their home ice for the final time this season.

The Ice Hawks are slated to host the Helena Bighorns Saturday and Sunday at the Havre Ice Dome, with Saturday night being senior night. The Ice Hawks have one senior, Roxanna Jensen, who will be honored during Saturday night's game.

The Ice Hawks are coming off a pair of losses at the Glacier Avalanche last weekend in Whitefish, which were the first two games of the new year for Havre. The Ice Hawks closed out December a split with Glasgow in Glasgow. The Ice Hawks beat Glasgow by 7-3 and lost to Glasgow 8-6. In the games against Glasgow the Ice Hawks got goals from Brandon Huntington, Caleb McLain, Gavin Gunderson, Justin Miller, Nick Howell, Dustin Armstrong, Trevor Jensen, Kyle Konesky and Dane Linquits, while goalie Josh Emge was strong in between the pipes.

In last week's losses to the Avalanche, Havre got goals from Howell, Konesky and Alex Hanson.

Following this weekend's home games, the Ice Hawks have six road games remaining in the regular season. Havre will play at Great Falls Jan. 19, three games a ttournanet in Bozeman Feb. 8-10 and the Ice Hawks finish the regular season with games at Missoula Feb. 23-24.

Havre's games with Helena are scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday at the Havre Ice Dome.
