Davis pleads not guilty to molesting boy

A Havre man Monday denied in court claims that he molested a Havre preschool-age boy he babysat.

Jonathon E. Davis, 26, pleaded not guilty in state District Court in Havre Monday to four felony counts of intercourse without consent and one felony count of attempted intercourse without consent. He was in the Hill County Detention Center this morning on $30,000 bail.

According to charging documents in the case, a woman notified the Hill County Sheriff's Office April 8 that Davis may have sexually assaulted the boy. The boy's mother told a deputy who was investigating the allegations that the child said he and Davis played a "special game," the documents said, and that she was taking the boy to a medical professional for an interview.

Later that day, a representative of the child abuse hotline called the sheriff's office to report that the doctor said the child may have been assaulted by Davis on several occasions.

When interviewed, the doctor told a deputy that, based on the child's disclosures, he believed something had occurred between Davis and the boy and that he believed it had been happening regularly since July 2012.
