Republicans look to pick up effort in Hill County

The Republican National Committee is looking to replicate efforts in Hill County that it is using in Cascade County, with a field worker telling the Havre Pachyderm Club Friday they can expect to see more of him here.

“I was given this position, in a large part, because the RNC has decided that Montana is an extremely important state in 2014,” Taylor Rose said at the Pachyderm’s monthly meeting.

He said large amounts of money and support are coming to the Montana GOP from Washington, and it is up to the local Republicans to take advantage of that.

“And it’s time we use those resources to make a definite change in infrastructure that will last beyond 2014 … ,” Rose said. “We need to use this year to our advantage, make a lot of exciting things happen.”

RNC is teaming with the Montana GOP to build the effort, and other field workers in Bozeman, Missoula, Kalispell, Helena and Billings will be joining his efforts in Great Falls.

He said the work in building a grassroots Republican network in Cascade County, long a Democratic stronghold, has been so successful the party leaders have assigned him Havre as well. Rose said he believes Cascade County could be a flip county this year, and turn Republican.

He said he will be working on building a grassroots effort in Hill County as well, training volunteers in campaigning and using technology to build a voters list as well as to help prepare the candidates.

“We really, actually have an effective game in mind,” Rose said. “This is a good year in the state of Montana to be active in politics.”

Rose said people who want more information can contact him at [email protected].

We live in a town where the majority of the people are Democrats yet we are represented by a majority of Republicans. It would appear that the Republicans have already picked up the effort in years prior rather than now.
