Martha Mary (Ball) Fox

Martha Mary (Ball) Fox passed away at her residence in Fort. Belknap on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014. Martha was born on Sept. 8, 1973, in Havre, Montana, to Gordon and Bernadette (Firemoon) Ball.

  Wake services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at 5 p.m., and rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., at Sacred Heart Church in Fort Belknap. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with interment to follow at Lodge Pole Cemetery.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Martha attended school in Harlem and graduated from Chemawa Indian School in Salem, Oregon. On July 4, 1998, she married Franklin Fox and went on to become a wife and homemaker and from this union, her daughter Kristyn Jerusha was born.

Her higher education and credentials include nursing school at Montana State University-Northern and United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck, North Dakota. She was a certified nursing assistant at Northern Montana Hospital's Care Center. She was an administrative assistant and medical records technician at Fort Belknap Indian Health Services. She also worked for Fort Belknap Tribal Health Department and CHR Program. Her latest job was an eligibility technician for the Fort Belknap Commodity Program.

Martha loved spending time with her daughter and family. She also loved to watch chicken dancing and Indian relay races. Her favorite sport to play and watch was volleyball. She enjoyed visiting with the elders and making people laugh.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Bernadette (Firemoon) Ball; her maternal grandparent, Leroy Firemoon Sr. and Ruby Talksdifferent; her paternal grandparents, Robert Ball Sr. and Alice Pond Ball, along with numerous aunties, uncles and family members whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristyn Jerusha Fox of Fort Belknap; and her lifelong friend, Frank Fox of Billings; as well as her father, Gordon (Arlene) Ball of Fort Belknap; her brothers, Matt (Clarissa) Ball of Fort Belknap and Douglas (Tanya) Ball of Arvada, Colorado; her sisters, Judy Ball of Arvada, Colorado and Bonita Ball of Fort Belknap.
