Polson newspaper editor arrested at crash scene

KALISPELL (AP) — Authorities arrested the editor of a weekly newspaper in Polson while he was taking photographs at the scene of a non-fatal highway crash in Montana.

Vince Lovato, 53, was accused of interfering with the investigation of a head-on crash on Montana Highway 35 on Oct. 1, Lake County sheriff's spokeswoman Karen Sergeant told KERR-AM.

Lovato, editor of the Lake County Leader, faces three misdemeanor charges — obstructing a peace officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He has been released on his own recognizance.

The Daily Inter Lake said his first court date is Oct. 15.
