Obituary - The Rev. Marvin Eldridge

The Rev. Marvin Eldridge of Fort Benton, Montana, graduated from this life Dec. 13, 2014. He has joined his wife, Betty Jo, in the presence of Jesus.

Marvin was born Sept. 13, 1932, in Arlee, Montana, to Bert and Nettie Eldridge. He grew up on the family farm and loved playing sports.

On May 19, 1950, Marvin married Betty Jo Lemmon. Their union produced four children, Marvia (Rick) Johnson of Fort Benton, Keith (Loretta) Eldridge of Havre, Ronda (Bud) Childers of Midland, Texas, and Jeani (Martin) Shea of Somers. The Lord called Marvin and Betty Jo into the ministry and they pastored churches in Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota. The early years of ministry were with the Assemblies of God and the later years were with the United Methodist Church.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Nettie Eldridge; brothers, Bill, George, Pete, Dunk, Eugene, John, Thomas, Roy and Earl; sisters, Mabel, Rene and Marge; and his beloved wife Betty Jo. He is survived by his four children, 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and brother. Norman (Bunk) Eldridge.

A celebration of life service will be Jan. 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Community Bible Church Fellowship Hall in Fort Benton.

The family has requested that all attendees wear sports attire.
