Skylight volleyball inks Wyoming transfer hitter

It’s the offseason in college volleyball, but Montana State University-Northern head coach Bill Huebsch is hard at working preparing for the 2015 season.

Huebsch recently announced the signing of junior college transfer Nicolette Bloomer, a 6-1 middle blocker/right side hitter from Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming.

Bloomer is a native of Bakersfield, California and will have two years of eligibility at Northern, starting next fall. She is enrolled at MSU-N for the winter semester.

While in high school, Bloomer and her club team received third place at the 2012 USA Junior National Tournament. While at Northwest College, Nicolette and her team won the Region IX Conference in 2012 and 2014 and won the Region IX tournament in 2013 and 2014. The Trappers also placed ninth in 2013 and fourth in 2014 at the Junior College National Tournament.

Bloomer is attending school for a degree in Business Administration and plans on continuing to earn her Master’s degree. She says she “is very excited to start at her new home at Northern.”

Bloomer is the daughter of Michael and Sheryl Bloomer. She is the oldest of three siblings, including Amber, 18, and Garet, 16.
