Letter to the Editor: Giveaway House board has done great work

Editor:

I am writing in response to the story that appeared in the Havre Daily News regarding Sheila Forshee and the previous issues with the Giveaway House.

It is important that everyone know how excited I am as the founder and president of My Neighbor in Need to have the new Havre’s Helping Haven (formerly the Giveaway House), as one of our community’s partners.

Prior to agreeing to bring our projects to Havre, I meet with the approved and registered board of the Giveaway House, which does not include Ms. Forshee. Originally I was concerned that if I partnered with the Giveaway House, all of the drama that had gone on for several years would be toxic and deter from the mission of My Neighbor in Need. However, after numerous meetings with the board, my concerns were extinguished. I congratulate the board for their vision to make much-needed changes which demonstrates their commitment to be above reproach and to help those in need without any personal gain.
