Obituary - Laura L. (Osterberg) Lee

Laura L. (Osterberg) Lee of Havre, Montana, passed away at the age of 61 on April 8, 2015, at Northern Montana Care Center after a two-year battle with cancer.

Cremation has taken place, and, at Laura's request, no services will be held. The family has, however, elected to hold a celebration of life for Laura on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 4 p.m. in the dining area of Boxcars. This is an informal event meant to gather and share memories of Laura. Please bring pictures or items to share if you may have any. Memorials in Laura's name may be made to the Havre-Hill County Library, 402 3rd St., Havre, MT 59501, Recycle Hi-Line, 2427 Old Post Road, Havre, MT 59501, Havre MAT or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Laura was born on Nov. 20, 1953, to Leroy and Wanda (Robinson) Osterberg in Newberry, Minnesota. Her family moved to Coleraine, Minnesota, in 1956 and later to Havre in 1966. She graduated from Havre High School in 1972 and attended Montana State University-Northern on and off throughout the years. She married Paul Froehlich in 1973 and had three boys, Scott, Jeremy and Derik. They later divorced. She moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota, in 1987 where she lived with her husband, Duane Mrnak. They later divorced. Laura moved back to Havre in 2000.

Over the years, she worked as a bartender, a DJ and a CNA. Her favorite job was as a DJ at KOJM in Havre and KOGY in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. She also enjoyed acting in the MSU-N Theater. In 1972, she was crowned Havre's Junior Miss.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Wanda Osterberg; brothers, Erik and Kevin; and son, Derik.

She is survived by her long-time companion, Ron Larsen; sons, Scott Froehlich of Havre, and Jeremy (Eve) Froehlich of Grand Rapids, Minnesota; and grandchildren, Devon Scott, Breanna Froehlich, Hunter Froehlich, Haley Froehlich, Raina Froehlich and Jamin Froehlich of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and Ethen Aamodt of Bemidji, Minnesota.
