Letter to the Editor: Looks for help paying medical bills

Editor:

People of Havre, thank you for your support. Havre Grateful Bread will be in business six years in May. For that I’m truly thankful that I have been able to pursue my passion for baking this long has been a blessing.

The business is doing well. Unfortunately, my mounting medical debt, leftover from my cancer treatment and new ones from my cardiac event and others threaten to end my time as a baker. The money I make making dough isn’t enough dough to pay all my regular bills and leave any money for the medical debt. One creditor has filed a lawsuit that will default in the next week. If that happens they could attach my bank accounts and put liens on my property making it impossible to meet my personal bills or operate my business. I would lose everything.

After I had my cancer treatment several people offered to help me with my bills. At that time I didn’t think I needed help, but that’s no longer true. If you still want to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Below is a list of my creditors and the amounts I owe. The first one is the one who filed suit against me.

• Centron Services

PO Box 875

Helena MT 59634

• Havre Credit Bureau

Account No. 60224

$15,499.86

• Northern Montana Hospital

$3,000

If you are willing to help, send you donation to one of these creditors or I’m setting up an account at Bear Paw Credit Union to receive donations.

If you make a direct donation to any of my creditors make sure to include a note telling them to put the funds toward my account so it’s properly credited.

Many hands make light work. If 380 people each send $100 to Centron that debt and suit would go away.

Thank you again Havre. I love this town. Keep us in your prayers.
