Eastern Star to sponsor fireworks stand

The Havre Chapter of Eastern Star is again selling fireworks as a fundraiser for the organization. Pegi Wenger will manage the fund-raising project this season.

The group plans are to have it open to the public beginning Thursday, June 25, and continue through the evening of July 4.

The stand will again be located on the south side of 2nd Street West, directly south of the Holiday Village Mall and west of the Charter Communications Building.

Hours of operation will be from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday and Friday, June 25-26, and from then on, will open at 10 a.m. each morning through the Fourth of July.

A large family pack is given away to the winner in a drawing each year. People must be 18 years of age to register for the drawing, but no purchase is necessary. A discount coupon is available by going online to http://www.tntfireworks.com.

The funds from this annual project are used by Havre Chapter to support their local charities which include the Cancer Fund; Heart Fund; the Masonic Home for the Aged in Helena; the Estarl Scholarship, which provides scholarships to local youth seeking a career in religious endeavors; the Electa Cup Fund, which provides monetary gifts to their needy members, and to support and encourage local youth group projects.

This past year, the group financially supported the 4-H Bigger Better Barn project and donated to the local HRDC’s haven for abused spouses.
