Rocky Boy couple sentenced to five months each

A former president of Stone Child College and her husband, who was the head grounds manager at the college, were both sentenced to five months in federal prison Thursday.

Melody and Frank Henry will also have to pay a restitution of $47,301 jointly and severally for the charges of tax evasion they admitted guilty to.

Melody Henry, in 2012 filed a false return on her taxes. She and her husband claimed $135,146 on their 2012 tax return, with a business loss of $10,609, “then and there well knowing that they had not incurred business expenses to that extent or in that amount, or suffered a business loss to that extent or in that amount,” the redacted indictment reads.

A jury Feb. 20 found them not guilty of embezzling funds from the Chippewa Cree government.
