Comforting traumatized youngsters

Brownie Troop 3202 donated stuffed animals to the Havre Fire Department and the Havre Police Department for emergency responders to use when working with children. When kids are involved in an incident where emergency medical services or police are called, firefighters or police officers can give that child a teddy bear or other stuffed animal. The stuffed animals serve two ways: One, they give the children a friend to hang on to during and after the incident, and, two, they give police, firefighters and EMTs a tool to help comfort the children and let them know they are with a safe person. Girl Scout troops across the nation dropped stuffed animals off on the same day and same time.
