Kallenberger celebrates 100th

Helen (Flatness) Kallenberger celebrated her 100th birthday Dec. 5, 2015.

She was raised at the foot of Centennial Mountain in the Bear Paw Mountains, where she walked or rode horseback to the Flatness Country School. She then attended and graduated from Box Elder High School, participating on the championship girls basketball team.

After high school she moved to Spokane, Washington, and attended Moler Beauty School where she graduated in 1938 and also where she met her future husband, Ray, who was also attending the Moler Barber School.

They ranched south of Havre in the Bear Paw Mountains, raising their five children: Sharlene (Dale) Molyneaux, Linda (Connie) Cox, Gail (Ted) Solomon, Judy (Larry) Kinsella, and Raymond (Debbie) Kallenberger. She has 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and another on the way.
