Stop by at library for coloring and cupcakes

What are your big Saturday night plans? Saturday, Feb. 20, at 6 p.m. the Havre-Hill County Library is hosting a fun Coloring and Cupcakes event.

Coloring, it’s not just for kids.

Have you heard of the newest trend?

Adult coloring books are becoming super popular these days and it’s no surprise.

Not only does coloring take us back to a simpler time in life when all we had to worry about was whether or not we wanted the crusts cut off our PB&J’s, but researchers have been examining the effects of coloring for years and their findings are pretty amazing.

Coloring has the potential to reduce anxiety, create focus and help you relax. It acts as a type of meditation which helps us shut down our brains and focus solely on the moment and not our to-do lists that never seem to get any smaller. Toss in the fact that it helps your fine motor skills and vision and I bet you are eager to hunt down a coloring book and get your relaxation on.

All of these reasons are why the Havre-Hill County Library is hosting a fun coloring and cupcakes event, and you are invited. Join us for sweet treats and stress relief Saturday, Feb. 20, at 6 p.m. All coloring pages, supplies and cupcakes will be provided, so stop on by and color your cares away.

This event is free and open to the public.

We have two more books left to discuss in our Winter Reading Series.

The discussion for

• “Montana: Then and Now” by Aaron Parrett will be Thursday, Feb. 25, at 4 p.m.

Parrett will be back at the library at 7 p.m. to present his program Montana Gothic.

• The final discussion in the Winter Reading Series will be Ken Egan’s “Montana 1864” at 4 p.m. March 10.

All of these programs are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.

If you have any questions, please call the library at 265-2123, email us at [email protected], or just stop in during our open hours.
