Letter to the Editor: Thanks for helping with the Jason Groseclose Memorial Basketball Tournament

Editor:

Thank you to all who contributed in any way at the Jason Groseclose Memorial Basketball Tournament over the last 20 years. It is a bittersweet time of the year for us as we say goodbye to this event. We will miss the players, fans and the friendships that have been made.

A total of $47,072 has been given over the past 20 years for North Star academic scholarships, athletic scholarships, school organizations and school projects.

We want to thank the sponsors of the teams, the businesses that made donations and the friends who contributed. We were fortunate to have numerous volunteers, the referees who donated their time and talents, the people who kept the clock and kept the scorebook, concession workers and the clean-up crew. Thanks everyone for your contributions. Thank you players, win or lose, you always came back. A big thanks to the local pubs that hosted the festivities after the games and donated food and refreshments.

We appreciate all the time Pat Foster Jr. spent organizing this tourney and kept it going all these years. Bob Evans and the crew at Master Sports donated T-shirts every year and designed the logos. We appreciate all they do.

It takes a great effort to pull off an activity of this magnitud, and we appreciate all the time and energy that the workers put in — from the bottom of our hearts — thank you. Your generosity will never be forgotten. We were humbled by the ongoing support to keep Jason’s memory alive.

Please accept our heartfelt thanks for a job well done,

The Groseclose Family
