Class B and C golf is underway, and the Chinook boys are off to a great start. The Sugarbeeters captured first place at last weekend’s Shelby Invitational and Belt-Centerville Invite.
Ian McIntosh led the way for Chinook in Shelby with a 79, while Derek Bell shot 87 and Kade Friede shot 90. Jake Norby was fourth in scoring for the Beeters with a 101. Rocky Boy and Harlem also had players in the field. Chinook scored a 256 to easily beat second-place Fort Benton.
The Belt-Centerville Invite was played Saturday in Fort Benton, where the Beeters posted a 267 to win. McIntosh was second with an 87, while Bell was fourth and Friede was sixth.
The Chinook girls also placed third in Shelby with a team total of 420. Belt placed first. Courtney Hofer led the Beeters with a 135, while Ashley MacLeod shot a 141 and Carrie Hofer posted a 144.
Chinook will take part in the Choteau Invitational Saturday.
