Faupel honored again

Montana State University-Northern women’s basketball coach Chris Mouat has announced that the jersey worn by Skylight junior Natalee Faupel this past season will be displayed in the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.

Faupel’s jersey, along with over 100 other high school and college All-American jerseys, will be a part of the Ring of Honor, one of the most popular exhibits at the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Faupel becomes the second Skylight to have her jersey hang in the Ring of Honor, joining A’jha Edwards, whose jersey represented the 2014-2015 class.

At the end of the 2015-16 season, Faupel was named the Frontier Conference Player of the Year, and a First-Team All-Conference selection for the second straight season. Following Northern’s third straight trip to the NAIA national tournament back in March, Faupel became the second straight Skylight to be named an NAIA First-Team All-American. She was also named WBCA First-Team NAIA All-American as well.

“This is a huge honor for Natalee and a nice reward for an excellent season,” Mouat said. “It is also really big for MSU-Northern and our basketball program because her jersey will be displayed with some of the very best players in the nation from this past season.”
