Fred grew up in Rocky Boy all his life, he loved traveling back to Eagle Butte, South Dakota, to spend time with his family. Fred comes from the Bacon, Red Bear, Nault and Arpan families. Fred's closest friend was his little sister, Jonni Rose. Their love for each other could not be measured.

He attended grade school and high school in Box Elder, he graduated from Box Elder High School in 2009. While in high school he played basketball and football. Fred also attended the Kicking Horse Job Corps and graduated as a Pharmacy Tech in November 2015.

Fred loved the outdoors, powwows, basketball games and especially spending time with his family. He had many brothers and sisters that he held close. He really enjoyed hanging out with Austin Bacon Jr. (Baby Austin) and Shane, teasing around; they always made his day full of laughter.
