Press release

Stephanie Hovet is the winner of the Gary & Leo's Fresh Foods Hometown Proud Scholarship for 2016-17 to Montana State University-Northern.

She will receive a $1,500 scholarship toward their tuition.

"Our scholarships are made available for our staff and their family members" said Tracy Job, store manager. "Congratulations to our 2016-2017 recipient."

She will be attending MSU-N as a junior pursuing a degree in elementary education.

Her current GPA is 3.90, and she has made the dean's list two of the previous three semesters she has attended Northern.

Her long-term goals are to become a teacher "before the age of 50" and run a successful classroom while staying in Havre.

She is currently working as a paraprofessional at Havre Middle School and had her first practicum experience observing the special education class at Lincoln-McKinley Primary School.

Stephanie is the daughter of Jon Hovet, Meat Department manager at Gary & Leo's. She was also an employee until she graduated in 2012.

The Gary & Leo's scholarship is available to employees of Gary & Leo's Fresh Foods and members of their immediate family. All applicants must attend MSU-Northern as a full-time student and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA.
