Skip was born on Feb. 15, 1939, in Havre to John "Shorty" and Frances (Een) Cremer. His early years were spent on a ranch in the Bear Paws until his family moved to town, where he spent the remainder of his school years, graduating from Havre High School.

Following graduation, Skip enlisted in the Army National Guard and served until his discharge was granted so he could come home to care for his ailing mother. He married Brenda Behlke Gjersing in 1972, and the couple made their home in Havre.

Skip attended college, graduating with an associate degree in machining, which he later put to work owning Skip's Auto Body, Big Sky Propane and a couple other businesses. For more than 10 years before retirement, Skip worked in maintenance at Triangle Communications, retiring around 2006.

He enjoyed building things from steam engines, to cars, trucks and commercial equipment. Skip was always busy with a project. He loved spending time with his family and served on a couple of boards at First Lutheran Church, including the lutefisk dinners that are put on every year.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shorty and Frances Cremer.

Skip is survived by Brenda Cremer, his beloved wife of over 40 years, of Havre; his daughter, Cheri (Jason) Miyashiro of Keller, Texas; his sons, Darryl "Pete" Cremer of Boise, Idaho, John (Wanda) Cremer of Sidney, Montana, Jon (Dawn) Gjersing of Billings, Montana, Dave (Laurie) Gjersing of Boise, Idaho, and Ken (Darla) Gjersing of Billings, his 19 grandchildren; and his eight great-grandchildren.
