Nationals play Bulls twice in the Ice Dome

It's been a rough start to the season for the Glacier Nationals of the North American Tier 3 Hockey League. But, with two games at home this weekend, starting tonight, the Nationals are hoping to start the turnaround.

To do that, the Nationals will need to take down fellow Frontier Division foe Billings, as Glacier will host the Bulls for back-to-back games, starting tonight inside the Havre Ice Dome at 8. Saturday's game will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Currently, the Nationals are the only pointless team in the Frontier with a record of 0-6. Yet, despite getting swept last weekend in Billings, the Nationals were competitive in both games, scoring a total of five goals in the process.

Scoring of course, has been the biggest hurdle for the Nationals this season and more importantly, getting shots on net. That has been a problem for Glacier this year, and it has put the defense at a disadvantage.

However, there are some bright spots for the Nationals attack as Gavin Cline has started to emerge as an offensive threat. He is the current scoring leader for the Nationals with three. Yet, others have stepped up offensively, including Riggs Zeidler, who scored in the last game, as well as Hunter Mason and Lindros Beard, who each have two assists so far.

Billings, on the other hand, has a number of dynamic scorers, led by Zach Heiser, who scored a pair of goals in the Bulls' 8-3 win over Glacier last Saturday. Dillon Streh is another offensive threat for Billings, as we Kenny Miller, Austin Lange and Kody Goodwin. Kyle Mueller, Cole Emery and Denis Kozev have also proven to be productive.

Defensively, the Nationals have struggled keeping teams out of their end have allowed a high number of shot attempts. Glacier will have either Mikhail Pahrebets in net or Jonah Gower, who each saw time between the pipes against Billings.

The Nationals and Bulls will play tonight at 8 and Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
