HHS lists students of the month

Kollin Nystrom has been chosen as one of Havre High School's students of the month for October.

Kollin is the son Shawn and Heidi Nystrom. His siblings are Kaleb, 23, Kody, 21, Kaitlin, 20, and Kaylee, 17.

Kollin is a sophomore in high school and wrestles for the Havre Blue Ponies. He contributes to his family's ranch and helps with the Baltrusch Land and Cattle Co. in the fall.

Kollin was nominated by Janice Skillman for his attitude and work ethic in the classroom. Kollin has good attendance, is an independent learner and regularly completes his work ahead of schedule, she said, adding, he is positive and respectful to his peers and teachers.

"Kollin is a joy to have in class," Skillman said.

Kollin's plans include going to college and continuing to help run the family ranch.

Selena Sandman has been chosen as Havre High's other October 2016 student of the month.

Selena is the daughter of Ivy Sandman and the sister of Rachelle Newfield, 26, and Jackie Hensley, 32.

As a junior at Havre High School, Selena is active as a secretary in the Culture Club and participates in Leadership High School.

Selena was nominated by Heather Haney for her great work ethic, thoughtfulness and kind nature. Selena is very conscientious about completing her assignments thoroughly and accurately.

Haney said she is quiet but always has a smile on her face, adding, sometimes a small smile is all it takes to make someone else's day great.

"I appreciate Selena for her positive attitude, her hard work and many other positive attributes," Haney said.

Selena plans on going to college after high school for nursing.
