Montana Medical Association supports Montana Rx Card

 Press release

Helena — With Montanans continuing to face rising costs for their prescription medications, physicians in the state recognize increasing medication costs can be a barrier to following treatment regimens.

For this reason, the Montana Medical Association is partnering with the Montana Rx Card to provide a free prescription medication assistance program for members, their patients, employees and all Montana residents.

“MMA member physicians are happy to endorse this partnership to make prescription medications affordable for more of their patients,” MMA Chief Executive Officer Jean Branscum said.

The Montana Rx Card was launched in 2011 to make prescription medications more affordable for the uninsured and underinsured. Since its inception, the program has saved Montana resident’s $17,500,000. The card may be used for savings of up to 75 percent on prescription medications at more than 68,000 pharmacies nationwide.

This free drug card offers discounts on more than 20,000 brand name and generic prescriptions for individuals without prescription coverage. Individuals who have prescription drug coverage may still qualify and receive discounts on medications not covered by their insurance plan. Montana residents can search drug pricing, locate participating pharmacies and create a free card by visiting mmaoffice.org or montanarxcard.com.
