Bulls sweep Ice Hawks

After four straight wins, the Havre Ice Hawks high school hockey team ran into a juggernaut this weekend in Billings.

Havre faced off against the No. 2-ranked Billings Bulls Saturday and Sunday, and the Bulls came away with two wins.

In Friday's game, Billings' defense was outstanding, as the Bulls shut out the Ice Hawks 10-0. Havre managed just 15 shots on goal for the game, while on the other end, Havre goalie Kinzee Peterson saved 32-of-42 Billings shots.

The Ice Hawks returned to the ice Sunday to play Billings again, and while the Bulls found the net 10 times yet again, Havre fought much better offensively in a 10-4 loss.

The Ice Hawks scored two goals in the first period, another in the second and one more in the third, while getting off a total of 18 shots. Ethan Roberts scored twice for the Ice Hawks, once unassisted and another on an assist from Kyle Kirkpatrick. Bryce Denton found the back of the net unassisted as well, while Kirkpatrick netted a goal on an assist from Cole Hanson.

The Ice Hawks return home for a pair of games this weekend against the Great Falls American. Havre and Great Falls meet Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. in the Havre Ice Dome.
