No arrests made in school shooting threat

Police continue investigation

Officers have not made any arrests related to a shooting threat made Thursday evening toward Havre High School and the investigation is still ongoing, an officer with the police department said this morning.

Officer Lucas Aimes said the threat that dispersed officers to all Havre public schools all day Friday has not resulted in any arrests and, as of press time, he did not know whether there were any suspects.

A Friday press release from the police department says individuals came to the police department Thursday at 7:21 p.m. to report “an implied threat being made towards the school of a possible shooting” to happen Friday.

The police department in conjunction with the school district took precautionary measures and extra officers were assigned to all the schools.

A press release from the school district said Friday that a thorough investigation revealed there was no immediate threat to the school staff or children, and the schools had never been on lockdown.

Police Chief Gabe Matosich and Havre Public School Superintendent Craig Mueller said Friday that no one had been hurt.
