"It will be so great to have a Blue Pony plate out there, because there are so many people out there who are alumni and fans," she said.

The foundation worked for nearly a year to sponsor the plate, now available at the Hill County Courthouse and throughout the state.

Morse said when the foundation members began planning the plates then working on and finalizing its design, people seemed to like the idea.

"I think there's quite a bit of interest," she said.

Sale of the license plate, sporting the Blue Pony logo, with the words "Blue Pony Pride" blazoned at the bottom, will allow the foundation to increase its financial support of educational needs in the district through scholarships and small grants.

According to the state Department of Justice web page on specialty license plates, $20 of the purchase and annual renewal fees will be donated to the Havre Public Schools Education Foundation. the plates are available in every county.

The foundation "promotes civic pride, community involvement and participation in our schools," it said in the press release. "Contributing to the foundation is an investment in our young people. The (foundation) is committed to enhancing education in Havre and Hill County. It is in the best interest of a community that members join together to look for ways to guarantee provision for the educational needs of our young people."
