CASA of Hill County holds Pizza Hut benefit Thursday

Press release

Child abuse can seem like a big problem, sometimes too big to get a handle on, but Thursday, April 20, it will be easy for everyone in Havre to help abused children.

Childhood can be a chaotic time, and when there is abuse or neglect in a child’s home, the normal winds of chaos become a storm. Sometimes a child must be removed from their home

Of course, everyone’s aim — social workers, therapists, foster, and attorneys — is to create a better life for that child, to give the family the support and skills they need to be a positive home for the child, and to help the family heal.

But it’s still tough for the child: Everything is uncertain — changing.

A Court Appointed Special Advocate is there to make things a little less tough. A CASA meets the child and gets to know the child. A CASA becomes a voice for the child and is always looking out for the child — in court, in meetings, and in their home. A CASA works to be the constant, to be the one who is always on the child’s team, the one who is fighting for what is best for the child.

Thursday, people can help support the local CASA program and the amazing Volunteer-Advocates who are helping kids like these.

People can visit Havre’s Pizza Hut, mention CASA, and Pizza Hut will donate 20 percent of their purchase to help support CASA and further its work for abused children.

For more information about the event, or about CASA, people can contact Mark Douglass at [email protected] or 406-265-6743 ext. 1135.
