Name released in Duck Creek Road fatality

Officials have released the name of a woman killed in a car crash in Chouteau County last week.

Michelle Wolfchild Parker of Rocky Boy, 27, was killed in a car crash Thursday afternoon after the vehicle drove off Duck Creek Road southeast of Box Elder, rolled and threw her out  the car.

“The driver was pronounced dead on the scene,” a Montana Highway Patrol press release says.

A dispatcher with MHP said drugs or alcohol are not considered to have played a role in the fatal crash.

“The only thing suspected is speed,” the dispatcher said.

A Montana Highway Patrol news release says the vehicle was going westbound on Duck Creek Road around 2:44 p.m. when it ran off the right side of the road. The vehicle re-entered the road and crossed the centerline, after which it drove off the right side of the road again. The vehicle began to roll and the driver was ejected.

Parker’s funeral was held Saturday at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Rocky Boy. She was raised in Rocky Boy and graduated from Rocky Boy High School.

She joined the U.S. Army National Guard under the delayed entry program in 2006 and served until her honorable discharge in 2012. During her time of service, she was deployed under Operation Iraqi Freedom for a year.
