Officials release names of crash victims

Editor's note: This story has been corrected with updated information from the Montana Highway Patrol about seatbelt use by victims of the crash.

Officials have released the names of the two people who died in a fiery crash Saturday northwest of Havre.

Hill County Sheriff and Coroner Jamie Ross said Levi James Huston of Havre, 20, and passenger Teonna Bay Green of Harlem, 20, died as results of injuries sustained in the crash.

Montana Highway Patrol reported this morning that Green was wearing a seat belt and it is unkown if Huston was wearing a seat belt.

Speed is suspected as a contributing factor in the crash.

A 26-year-old resident of Chinook, who was wearing a seatbelt, was injured in the crash. The name of the injured person was not released.

A representative of the Highway Patrol said the agency received the call about the crash at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, but the actual time of the crash is not known. It also is unknown who was driving the vehicle.

The crash occurred about 13 miles northwest of Havre, near mile marker 13 on Montana Secondary 232.

The 2006 Mini Cooper was southbound on Highway 232 when it exited on the right-hand side of the road, collided with an embankment and overturned. The vehicle came to rest on its roof and caught fire.
