Stars dancing in Havre Saturday

Bullhook holds second annual Dancing with the Havre Stars fundraiser

The Bullhook Community Health Center Board will host its second annual Dancing with the Havre Stars fundraiser Saturday at 7 p.m. in the St. Jude Thaddeus School Gymnasium.

Bullhook Community Health Center Board member Sarah McKinney said money raised from ticket sales will go to the health center's new child advocacy center to help children who have been victims of assault.

The event will feature six members of the Havre community, each paired off with a professional dancer from the Utah Ballroom Dancing Company.

Each pair of dancers, McKinney said, will perform a different dance style which will then be judged by a panel of three volunteer judges from the community.

McKinney said the fundraiser is a good family-friendly event for all ages.

"It is going to be like a nice Saturday night option for people," McKinney said.

Local dancers will be state Rep. Jacob Bachmeier, D-Havre, Holly Cartwright, Tina Walin, Willard Fladager, Brad Baldwin and Mrs. Montana Tana Johnson.

There will also be door prizes, and Vine 19 will have a beer and wine bar at the event.

McKinney said the last half of the event will feature a performance by members of the dance company who will do different styles of dance.

"It's a treat," McKinney said. "It is just solid, beautiful dancing."

Tickets can be bought at the door for $20 or in advance at the health center. Children 13 and younger get in free.
