Every year, thousands of Montanans look at the New Year as an opportunity to make positive life changes. For Montanans who use tobacco, quitting tobacco is one of the best things they can do for their health. The Montana Tobacco Quit Line and American Indian Commercial Tobacco Quit Line are free services available to all Montanans and are here to help anyone quit tobacco. People can choose the service that is right for them.

My Life, My Quit: New Youth Quit Program

•  Five free coaching sessions either by text, chat or phone.

•  Dedicated toll-free number, 1-855-891-9989.

•  Online enrollment through mylifemyquit.com .

•  Respects privacy through confidential enrollment and coaching. No one will know someone enrolls unless they want them to know.

•  Specially trained coaches to work with teens and youth on quitting tobacco, including e-cigarettes.

•  Additional text messaging for extra support.

•  Educational materials designed for teens and youth with messages about quitting tobacco and e-cigarettes, and how to ask for help.

Montana Tobacco Quit Line

•  A free personalized quit plan.

•  Five free pro-active cessation coaching sessions.

•  Eight weeks of free nicotine replacement therapy — gum, patches or lozenges — available for callers engaged in the program.

•  Reduced cost cessation medication.

•  Staffed seven days a week, 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Mountain Standard Time with 24-hour voicemail. People are asked to leave a message if no one is available and its staff will call them back 1-800-QUIT NOW.

American Indian Commercial Tobacco Quit Line

In addition to the Tobacco Quit Line services, the American Indian Commercial Tobacco Quit Line offers:

•  Free culturally sensitive coaching with American Indian coaches.

•  10 free coaching sessions.

•  Staffed Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. Due to high-demand, callers may need to leave a message and call-back number. They may also call 1-800-Quit-Now and ask for the American Indian Commercial Tobacco Program to set up a call-back from a Native American coach. Coaches will return a call within 24 hours.

Quit Help for Pregnant Woman and New Moms

In addition to the Tobacco Quit Line services, Quit Now Montana Pregnancy Program offers:

•  Free personal female coach.

• Free nicotine replacement therapy during pregnancy and additional weeks postpartum.

•  Nine coaching calls during pregnancy and after delivery with cash incentives.

•  People should identify themselves as a pregnant woman when calling the Montana Tobacco Quit Line.

Quitting tobacco can be the most important thing smokers do for their health this New Year. The Quit Line, along with FDA-approved cessation medications available through enrollment, is a proven effective way to help quit tobacco use successfully.
