Havre High lists May students of the month

Hannah Gingery, a sophomore, is one of Havre High School's students of the month for May.

The daughter of Phil and Shalee, Hannah has three younger siblings, Hailey, 13, Harper, 10, and Huxlee, 7.

Hannah plays both volleyball and softball for Havre High, in addition to being a member of the pep club. Outside of school, she helps her sister with softball, and her hobbies and interests include camping, hiking, fishing, drawing, and painting.

Hannah was nominated by Lindsey Ratliff because she "has maintained a dedication to her studies throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. ... Hannah puts thought and care into every project, has a deep understanding of her own strengths and weaknesses."

After graduating, Hannah plans to attend Montana Tech to pursue a career in electrical or environmental engineering.

Senior Ellie Collins is Havre High's other May student of the month.

The daughter of Matt and Sarah, Ellie has one older sibling, Kailee, 22.

Ellie's school activities include being a member of the Havre High volleyball, basketball, and softball teams. Outside of school, she is a waitress at Wolfers, a front desk employee at Down Under Fitness Center, and is in the process of becoming an MDA volleyball official and certified personal trainer. Her hobbies and interests include playing Animal Crossing, drinking coffee like it is water, fishing and boating with her dad, kayaking with her mom, staying up until 3 a.m. playing Minecraft with Kailee, roasting Kailee with Adam, and, of course, in her free time she likes to hike and bike.

She was nominated by Cory Gunderson because "she has been a great help this year and pretty much every year she has been here. ... Although it doesn't really pertain to this year, Ellie made the coolest anatomy children's book when we were in lockdown and I wanted to celebrate it."

Ellie currently plans on attending the University of Montana in Missoula for physical therapy.
