Grief Poem - Going home!

Grief means sorrow, as loss of one; especially someone dear.

They're flown off, left us behind, life no longer feels clear.

The waves of grief do come on us like waves thrown on a beach.

But we don't drown, we just feel grief; dear ones aren't in our reach.

We go through shock, depression, too; but times of laughter too,

Don't dwell on loss but what we're left, like stuff that's good for you.

While we're suffering, glory's ahead, exceedingly with joy!

We're born to die - when our time's up, God calls us home. AHOY!

We're only here a little while, God gave us jobs to do!

But most of us, though we're busy - "what Job?" We have no clue.

God chose each one and sent us here, for just a little while.

So, when our loved one flies away, they go back home, and smile.

We're left behind, they stole our heart but left us filled with love.

When our "job's" done, doing God's work, we'll meet again above.

Grief come to us in many forms, it usually means a loss.

We are so sad when loved ones die, thank God that He's the boss!

While we're missing our dear loved one, recall, Christ suffered, too.

He'll strengthen(1) us, we'll meet again, when our life here is through.
