Staffing issues prevent printing, subscribers will be credited and full edition available online

After resolving a supply issue with an overnight delivery, the paper was able to print today, but an unexpected staffing issue is preventing printing Thursday and Friday.

“Like most businesses across the country, we are really short-staffed. We have been trying to fill positions in all departments for about four years, and we are razor-thin,” Havre Daily News Publisher Don Thoma said. “If one person can’t be in the building, it can impact our operation.

“We really thank the support of our faithful followers, and are really sorry this is happening,” Thoma added. “We are resolving a lot of the problems we have had the last few years for printing the paper, and should be back Monday and hope to print Monday through Friday from now on.”

The paper plans to print the TV Guide Monday to insert in that edition.

Subscribers will be credited for the two online-only days, extending their subscriptions, and all content will be available online.

Subscribers also can access the e-edition, an electronic PDF version of the full paper, on their computers.

Subscribers who do not already have access to the e-edition can gain access by going to the website at https://havredailynews.com, clicking on “Free Trial” to the right of the black bar at the top of the page, and entering their information including listing an email and setting up a username and password.

People need to be sure to remember their password because Havre Daily does not have access to those and cannot tell people what they are.

The subscriber then must make sure to scroll to the bottom and enter the image verification information and also must reply to the verification email sent to them after enrollment is complete to gain access.

Once the enrollment and verification is complete, the subscriber can go to http://www.havredailynews.com and click on the “View PDF” button at the top right of the screen to view the full paper online.

People with questions can call the Havre Daily circulation department at 406-265-6795 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
