Grief Poem - Heartaches and Fog

Weather turned cold, but - warm or cold, some loved ones flew above.

Be old or young, lived near or far 'they' flew to God, with love.

We miss dear ones most every day, sunshine or fog or breeze!

They're missed a lot, our weather's COLD - glad they're not here to freeze!

A granny 'left' - she lived down south; she been an awesome cook!

She' traveled' some, did lots of things and once had lived in Chinook!

'Kim's' auntie passed three weeks ago - and Fog was all around!

She wasn't even very old - yes, heartaches do abound!

Unexpectedly, 'niece' flew off to join 'family' above.

Talented and a hard worker, and very well thought of.

A neighbor left, an older chap, his son got a headache.

Thought - who is going to tend to things, trim lawn and maybe rake?

Later we heard, we 'thought' a thump - a slam of a car door?

No one out there, 'colleague' inside, who'd slammed a cupboard drawer.

When fog rolls in, we may 'think back'; 'bout fog when 'we' were young.

Bugs, bees and wasps, they lived out there; in fog - we'd not get stung.

Down here we're sad, we need some help with chores 'they' used to do.

The heavy FOG messes our lives, and we have heartaches, too.

We're grieving, too, our hearts do ache, 'cause we're here all alone,

We could rejoice - they've gone ahead, no more on earth to roam.

If we'd just 'THINK" - if they were sick, NOW healthy as can be!

Creator God has made them WHOLE - now they have been set FREE.
