Havre Police Department

Lafawn Renee Ruiz of Havre, 34, was arrested on a charge of obstructing a peace officer or other public servant and on a Justice or City court warrant, and William Joseph Bostwick of Havre, 32, was arrested on a charge of obstructing a peace officer of other public servant after a woman with an outstanding warrant was reported on First Street at 3:51 p.m. Tuesday.

A written or verbal warning was issued after a Tuesday 4:27 p.m. caller at a First Street West business reported a woman would not leave the building.

A Third Street caller asked Tuesday at 5:49 p.m. to speak with an officer about a littering issue.

A 7:23 p.m. Tuesday caller at the hospital reported that a 14-year-old had been dropped off at the emergency room is ready for discharge, but no one was there to pick up the juvenile. Child Protective Services was notified about the issue.

Leonard Wayne Shaw II of Havre, 52, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence refused to test and careless driving after a vehicles stop on Seventh Avenue at 12:11 a.m. today.

Matthew Scott Puga of Box Elder, 28, was arrested on charges of trespass to property, DUI refused to test, reckless driving and fleeing or eluding a peace officer after caller reported at 1:26 a.m. today that a man who was not supposed to be there was at a 10th Street West location and wouldn't leave. Police Capt. Ryan Pearson said that Puga left the scene and officers tried to stop him on 11th Street West, but Puga continued driving several blocks before finally stopping on 22nd Avenue West. Puga was the only occupant of the vehicle and no damages were incurred during the low-speed chase, he added.

Imani Marie Small Boy of Box Elder, 20, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after a caller at a First Street business asked at 2:38 a.m. today for help kicking a group of people out of the business.

A Seventh Avenue caller reported this morning at 5:13 that a vehicle had been broken into.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

A sex offense in the Havre area was reported at 8:39 a.m Tuesday.

A written or verbal warning was issued after animal control was requested by someone Airport Drive Tuesday at 10:19 a.m.

Deputies opened an investigation after someone stopped at Hill County Sheriff's Office at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday asking for assistance.

--

A warrant was served Tuesday at 6:13 p.m. at Hill County Detention Center, but no details on charges were provided.

--

Deputies assisted at a Tuesday 11:13 p.m. medical call on U.S. Highway 87 in Box Elder.

--

A Tuesday 11:30 p.m. caller at a U.S. Highway 2 West business reported money missing from a wallet, but the allegation turned out to be unfounded.

Deputies assisted Havre Police today at 1:31 a.m. with a pursuit west on Old Post Road.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded to two calls Tuesday.

Havre Animal Shelter

This morning the animal shelter held one cat and five kittens all of unknown gender, three male cats, four female cats and two 22-week-old kittens, one male and one female.

Also this morning, the animal shelter held nine mixed-breed puppies between 5 weeks and 6 months old, four female dogs and one male dog. Additionally, five 6-week-old puppies were being housed off-site.

Births

A girl was born Sunday, March 3, 2024, to Josephine Longknife and Colt Gardipee of Fort Belknap.
