Obituary - John 'Jack' Benjamin

John "Jack" Benjamin, born January 12, 1956, in Butte, Montana, peacefully passed away the morning of March 2, 2024 in his home.

After moving to Seattle in seventh grade and returning to Butte post-high school, Jack, alongside his wife Lynn, established a beautiful life. They relocated to Seattle for a time, where they joyfully welcomed their two sons, Frank and Mark.

In 1992, the family returned to Montana, where Jack's love for horses and the state led him to acquire a ranch in Havre. Throughout his career as a pipe fitter at NorthWestern Energy, Jack dedicated himself to hard work, retiring in 2020. His beloved wife, Lynn, preceded him in death in 2021.

Jack's legacy lives on through his two sons, Frank and Mark, and daughters-in-law Kayla and Cara. He was a proud grandfather to Ali, Jack, Marki, Levi, and Oliver.

Beyond his family, Jack devoted his life to community service, notably through his active involvement in Havre youth hockey and youth baseball. As a dedicated coach, Jack played a crucial role in the growth of Havre youth hockey, contributing to its evolution from a small pond to the impressive Havre Ice Dome. His impact on countless children's lives through coaching is immeasurable.

A service will be held in Havre at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2024, in St. Jude Thaddeus Church with a social gathering to be held in St. Jude Parish Center following the service.

A service also will be held in Butte at a later date.

Jack's memory will forever endure in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him, his family, and the communities he served with unwavering dedication.
