District 9C Honors announced

The 2023-24 high school basketball season is in the books. And now, awards season is in full swing. That means, the 2024 District 9C All-Conference Teams have been announced.

On the boys side, eight local cagers were named First-Team All 9C. The list includes state champion Box Elder Bears Tracen Jilot, Tuarie Stiffarm-Rosette and Matthias Blackbird. Chester-Joplin-Inverness' Kason Pulst and Nate Nelson were also named to the First Team, as was Turner's Ryan Doyle, Big Sandy's Lane Demontiney and North Star's Gavin Clawson.

Jiolt, Doyle, Stiffarm-Rosette, Pulst, Demontiney and Blackbird were also all named Class C All-State for the 2023-24 season.

The Second-Team was composed of Alex Four Colors of Box Elder, Trent Billmayer and Carson Maloney from Turner, Ryland St. John from CJI and Kellen Diekhans and Brock Grossman from Fort Benton.

It was a great year on the girls side, too.

First-Team all 9C honors went to Big Sandy's Eva Yeadon and Jai Baumann, as well as CJI freshman Brynn Kammerzell. Fort Benton's Casha Corder and Angeline Reiner, Turner's Bridget Reed, Box Elder's Ariel Gopher and North Star's Kira King also made the First Team.

Yeadon, Kammerzell and Corder also were named Class C All-State for this season.

The girls Second Team was made up of Martay Stiffarm-Rosette of Box Elder, CJI's Jayla Ramberg and Brie Mattson, Big Sandy's Kiera Galbavy, Fort Benton's Addison Reichelt and Hays-Lodge Pole's Kelcie Mount.

CJI's Jordan Miller was named the 9C Girls Coach of the Year and Box Elder's Jeremy MacDonald was named the 9C Boys Coach of the Year.
