Play by Havre's Pyette to be produced in Anaconda

Will be second production ever of ‘The Harvest’ first produced in 2022 by MAT

Continuing with the tradition of producing new plays and highlighting Montana artists, Anaconda Ensemble Theatre is presenting the Southwest Montana premiere of “The Harvest” by Jay Pyette of Havre.

The play premiered in a Montana Actor’s Theatre — Pyette is a founder and executive director of MAT — production in Havre in March 2022.

“The Harvest” is a family drama tells the story of a Montana farm family coming to grips with a changing world. Six adult children face the reality of aging parents, the grim economics of a small family wheat farm, and the conflict of their own personalities and histories as they return home to help cut the crop.

This will be the second time this yet-to-be published play has ever been produced.

Directed and produced by Anaconda Ensemble Theatre Founding Artistic Director Jackie Vetter of Anaconda, the cast features Alice Spritz of Anaconda, Brent Mark of Anaconda, Caleb Hill of Butte, David Coleman II of Butte, Nikki Johnson of Anaconda, Mikey O’Brien of Butte, James “Hammy” Oulette Jr. of Butte and Cheyenne Mikkelsen of Livingston.

The additional artistic/technical team includes co-scene designer Steve Collins of Anaconda, costume designer Sonia Antar of Bozeman, sound designer Carolyn Orosco of San Antonio, Texas, light operator Elijah Jones of Butte, sound operator Bridgett Petritz of Butte, box office/house manager H.L. Meeks of Butte, box office staff members Kai Jackman and Natalie Evans, both of Anaconda.

The show will be presented April 26-28 and May 3-5 at The Little Theatre at the Anaconda Junior/Senior High School at 515 Main St. Shows are Friday through Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 for general admissions and $25 for general admission, premium reserved seating. “The Harvest” tickets are on sale now at htps://www.anacondaensembletheatre.com or by calling 406-200-8084. AET was formed in 2022, and is an Anaconda-based non-profit theater whose mission is to create culture for the community by empowering artists to engage and challenge audiences.
